KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Troubleshoot system and applications issues in conjunction with departments and partners.
- Be available to work after hours where necessary to minimize business downtime.
- Resolve issues within maintenance window periods and SLA’s.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and stakeholders.
- Setup and maintain database replication.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Educational Qualifications:
- Matric
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Proven work experience as a Database Specialist, Database Administrator, or similar role in a FinTech or IT environment.
- Solid understanding of database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
- Experience with database design, implementation, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of database security best practices and data protection regulations.
- Develop & implement data policies, procedures, security & standards.
- Managing data repositories.
- Resolving data conflicts.
- Performance tuning of database systems.
- Familiarity with database backup and recovery processes.
- Proficiency in SQL and database programming languages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database problems independently.
- Experience with both independent work and collaborative teamwork.
Years of Experience
- 8 – 10 Years Information Technology experience will be an advantage
