About the job

In this role, you’ll join a vibrant office community, either at our centrally located facilities in the heart of Copenhagen or at our headquarters by the harbor edge in Horsens. As part of HAY’s Sustainability & Compliance department, you’ll collaborate with a close-knit team of five dedicated colleagues who work together to achieve shared goals through mutual support and expertise.

The team is responsible for overseeing product safety, certifications, testing, and documentation. This involves close collaboration with internal teams, including Product Development, Procurement, and Sales, as well as engaging with external suppliers, authorities, testing and certification bodies.

In this newly established role, you will take the lead in streamlining and optimizing processes to build a robust foundation for compliance management across our three product categories: furniture, accessories, and lighting.

Your daily tasks will include:

• Build and enhance a robust compliance framework across furniture, accessories, and lighting
• Establish efficient systems for managing product data, certifications, and documentation, including identifying, selecting, and implementing new tools or software as needed
• Drive alignment of the value chain with sustainability goals, including net-zero CO2 emissions
• Ensure supplier adherence to international standards and company policies
• Monitor and improve compliance performance through tools and frameworks
• Simplify cross-departmental access to compliance data and documentation

Role expectations

• You are a responsible and structured individual with a solid technical foundation
• You approach tasks systematically, with a keen eye for detail and a well-organized mindset
• You excel at managing multiple tasks while maintaining a clear overview
• You have strong communication skills and can convey complex information in a professional and straightforward manner
• You are experienced in collaborating with international customers, suppliers, and partners
• You thrive in team settings, demonstrating excellent cooperation and teamwork skills

Experience required

• You have a strong foundation in compliance, systems management, or a related field, with a talent for handling complex processes and technical solutions
• Ideally, you bring at least three years of experience in compliance, systems management, or product development, though we prioritize your skills and attitude over specific years of experience
• You are adept at interpreting legislation and guidelines, assessing product documentation to ensure alignment with HAY’s internal and global standards
• You are highly proficient in IT and possess strong skills in managing and analyzing data (incl. Excel)
• Knowledge of sustainability is a plus but not a requirement
• You have excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
