Sales, Hospitality Overview

Hotels are at the forefront in a world where digital and physical experiences are coming together. Planet is excited about helping hotels help their staff and customers towards frictionless processes and experiences, with payment right in the middle.

Our Sales Hospitality team comprises of 150 employees globally and with the acquisition of Protel PMS, Hoist groups as well as Avantio, we are just getting started to provide a real feel good, connected experience at world's most well-known hotels. 

Role overview

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our sales team as a Business Development Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing sales activities within a specific, regionally defined area. Key responsibilities include all tasks related to customer relationship management, such as proposal creation, product presentations, and the development and implementation of an individual sales strategy within your designated market. The primary objectives of the Business Development Manager are to:

What you'll do:

  • Expand and secure the company's market position within the designated sales territory

  • Take sales responsibility for specific postal code areas in terms of acquiring new customers

  • Actively upsell Planet products to new and assigned customer base

  • Conduct contract negotiations

  • Plan and conduct product presentations on-site or remotely for prospects and existing customers

  • Provide advice on our products and new developments to prospects

  • Independently handle written and telephone correspondence within the scope of duties

  • Prepare and follow up on offers

  • Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries regarding offers, contracts, and products

  • Liaise with other departments and our sales partners

  • Support and participate in industry-specific events, trade fairs, and marketing activities

  • Maintain sustainable personal customer relationships

  • Serve as a contact person for customers regarding cross-departmental customer interests

  • Monitor competitors

  • Gather customer feedback and conduct market research

Who you are:

  • Proven experience in sales or business development within the hotel technology landscape

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Native Swedish language skills and proficiency in English required

  • Knowledge of the Nordic market is a plus

  • Willingness to travel within the designated sales territory

  • Experience with Protel is a plus
