Your Role as a Business Controller:
Reporting to the Lead Business Partner, the Business Controller plays a crucial role in supporting the financial performance and strategic decision-making of the organization for the Fox market.
This position involves analysing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to drive operational efficiency and profitability.
Key responsibilities include Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting, Reporting and Variance Analysis. The Business Controller is essential for enabling effective financial planning and analysis, commercial insight and financial advice to the Senior Business Controller and senior leadership team to help drive the financial performance of the division.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis:

Conduct in-depth analysis of regional financial performance, including sales, revenue and costs.

Identify trends and variances, providing actionable insights
Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.

Collaborate with department heads to gather inputs and assumptions for financial planning.
Reporting:

Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for regional and capability leadership, highlighting key metrics and trends.

Develop dashboards to visualize financial performance and support decision-making.
Variance Analysis:

Analyse variances between actual results and budgeted figures, explaining deviations and proposing corrective actions.

Identify underlying issues affecting financial performance.
Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments (e.g., sales, operations, marketing) to ensure financial considerations are incorporated into financial models.

Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
Ad-hoc Analysis:

Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support for special projects as required.
The Ideal Business Controller:
-
Educated to degree standard.
-
Proven experience in FP&A, financial modelling, business partnering, and strategic decision support.

Advanced proficiency in financial software. It is desirable to have experience of Workday and Salesforce alongside other financial modelling tools and Excel.

Working knowledge of IFRS, including Contract Accounting.

Understanding of what good financial control looks like.

Experience in the technology or professional services sector.

Experience of working in a medium to large business (revenue >£400m) with high revenue growth (>30%).

Experience of analysing and accounting for large data sets from multiple data sources.
