The Great Britain, Ireland & Netherlands (GIN) Service Business Controller is primarily responsible for partnering with and driving the financial performance of the Service business across GIN.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and proactive finance professional to join a fantastic company and a strong team, to make a valuable contribution in the role. This role reports into the Head of Business Control and acts as a Business partner for key leaders in the GIN organization.
This position is based in the Netherlands.
Business partnering with strong outside-in mindset:
• Understanding of the business logic and dependencies between key operational processes, relationships, and metrics
• Being the key finance professional, a trusted advisor and promote and ensure adequate finance understanding in the business
• Evaluate industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the GIN short, medium, and long-term financial and competitive position
• Providing actionable insights, key findings, and conclusions to business, not just numbers
Managing and analysing the financial performance:
• Ensure that key reporting principles and correct costing parameters as defined by KARI, KAS and FCM have been implemented and followed
• Ensure the correctness of managerial reporting including volume reporting (LIS, OR and sales), financial reporting (RE50 and R80), performance KPI’s (productivity, profitability, growth)
• Analyse and understand the weekly/monthly actual performance of the business, as well the deviations compared to planned (BUD/FCS) performance
• Provide and share the executive summary of the performance including opportunities and risk with business leaders
• Drive, challenge and contribute to agree and follow-up on actions with the business leaders
Facilitating the planning and forecasting processes:
• Support the planning and forecasting processes by providing financial parameters to be utilised in sales and cost planning and forecasting by the business (e.g., inflation rate, foreign exchange rates, increases in wages and salaries, costs for corporate materials)
• Validate and analyse the outcome and ensure realistic level of figures
• Ensure that plans and forecasts are consolidated and reported forward in a timely manner and that deadlines are respected
Other tasks:
• Perform or organize the execution of the business controlling tasks as defined in KONE FCM
• Participate in more general analysis tasks that support the Business Line, e.g., analysing the contract profitability, and producing scenario analyses for versatile purposes (e.g., price escalation vs. cost reduction)
• Maintain strong connections with other stakeholders and other Finance colleagues within KONE to share best practices and to understand current and future trends
Requirements for the position:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance or relevant field
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a finance function of a country/area organization
- Good knowledge of SAP, BW/CPM/Qliksense, PowerBI and Beacon/SAP BPC is advantageous
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
- Solution-focused with ability to seeing the whole picture, but also keen to dive into details as needed
- Great Collaboration skills, and keen interest to work with Business leaders
- Full English professional proficiency. Dutch language skills are seen as an advantage but not mandatory.
