Summary of the role:
The overall purpose of the role is to maximize financial return by establishing and executing financial policies, procedures, governance, and reporting to ensure economic transparency, incentivize economic decision making, and ensure strong financial control. Such will guide management of the organizational business unit and cost centre managers in charge with high focus on investments, project cost, and initiatives.
Business Case Specialist
Leading strategic and financial assessments for technological investments across Amadeus, that impact all business units. Under this position, the candidate would have to be able to influence at Director level in order to minimize risks for Amadeus and maximize benefits, agnostic from the business units (having a non-biased technology driven view that is business unit agnostic).
• Working in close relationship with Director level and above in TSI and BUs organizations participating actively in all technology investment initiatives and projects, providing support to the beforementioned organisations while ensuring that Amadeus technological, financial and strategic risks are identified and mitigated.
• Leading submission process to Investment Committee, coordinating among all approvers (Director level or above), preparing documentation, defending the project in the Investment Committee preparatory meeting and working closely with sponsor (Director level or above) to prepare the final Investment Committee session
- Support capitalization of software development costs and review capitalized projects for impairment
Cloud Transformation Support
- Establish and implement financial processes to ensure efficient and effective financial management of cloud and technology expenditures, in close collaboration with FinOps teams. Further development and implementation of the necessary processes, procedures and regulations, including technical implementation.
- Collaborate with IT, engineering, and procurement teams to optimize cloud resource utilization and cost management.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for monitoring cloud spend and financial performance. Preparing reports and decision-making documents for business management issues and ensuring its follow-up
- Provide training and guidance to teams on best practices for financial management in the cloud.
- Lead initiatives to drive cost savings, efficiency improvements, and financial accountability.
Know How / Skills
- University degree in Finance / Controlling, Engineering, Business Analysis or equivalent
- 7-8 years of experience in related disciplines
- Minimum 3 years experience in the Public Cloud such as FinOps, Cloud Finance, Technical Account Manager, or in a Business Role involving Cloud Investments.
- Fluency in English (C-level) and ideally German and/or French (B-level) but not mandatory
- Strong financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting skills.
- Experience with FinOps principles and practices, including cloud cost management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to motivate, influence, and drive results in a global environment at various hierarchical levels.
