Get to know the Role

The Ecosystem Payments team oversees, shapes and drives the overall strategy and growth initiatives of money movement for the Grab ecosystem in the Philippines. Our team is at the heart of digital innovation, focused on simplifying payments through secure, seamless solutions like e-wallets, card payments, and digital banking. The team drives decision making, ensuring major initiatives generate the maximum value for the Grab ecosystem - both in driving down costs, generating incremental revenue or providing the best payments solutions for our stakeholders, the merchants, drivers and passengers.

The Day-to-Day Activities

We are looking for a driven and collaborative individual to support us to develop Grab’s payments strategy for the Philippines. The role will be responsible to support Grab’s Ecosystem Payments team by: 

  1. Driving GrabPay and cashless payment adoption through understanding consumer behavior and trends.

  2. Supporting our various initiatives around payments processing and facilitation across the platform

  3. Identifying new opportunities to drive down the cost of acceptance for Grab by shaping consumer behavior. 

In this role, you will support the strategy, key initiatives, and special projects to ensure we build reliable and cost effective payment rails for Grab. This role challenges you to merge analytical precision with creative innovation to foster growth and engagement across different customer segments, directly contributing to the evolution of cashless transactions in the region.

Key activities include:

  • Craft marketplace programs to drive consumer adoption of GrabPay, and cashless payment methods

  • Support the development of strategic business priorities, based on internal & external analysis. This could require building a financial models, leading to actionable functional deliverables and re-allocating business portfolios to align with market opportunities

  • Drive alignment on our strategy to build reliable and sustainable payment flows for Grab. Work with product, tech, operations and other stakeholder teams to review product flows, and refresh our thinking on the payments infrastructure for the Grab platform

  • Drive analysis and planning of high impact strategic topics e.g. providing a fact base, problem identification, structured problem solving, advising on implementation

  • Work independently with analytics and other relevant teams to develop business metrics, analyze performance, derive actionable insights, drive iterations, and communicate progress & impact across the organization.

  • Crafting reports and presentations for leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, insights, and forecasts with a well-structured storyline

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field with a strong academic track record

  • Intellectually curious, highly analytical, and passionate about solving problems – loves to investigate data to identify root causes and key patterns that could generate valuable insights

  • Showcases solid spoken and written communication skills and ability to influence and persuade at the executive level through communication and presentation materials

  • Results-oriented, impact-focused and can thrive in a fast-paced and fluid environment

  • Has experience with utilizing AI tools and LLMs

  • Can effectively communicate in English and Filipino

  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets is required

  • Fluent in SQL

  • Proficiency in R/Python is a huge plus

  • Able to make key business decisions and provide rigorous, data-driven recommendations

  • Comfortable working in a semi-structured environment

  • Experience in banking, fintech or consultancy is a plus
