General Information:
Hitachi Energy, located in Earth City, MO, is seeking an Assistant Buyer. This position will, with limited supervision, perform duties that involve or relate to such functions as purchasing, PO creation, vendor invoice processing, inventory control and vendor issue resolution. This position will make recommendations to improve effectiveness to the group and increase customer satisfaction.
Your Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable processes.
- Monitor and reconcile vendor accounts.
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and other financial documents.
- Purchasing materials on behalf of the Business according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule and terms.
- Support Senior buyer with vendor management and accounts payable
- Support Project Manager from a weekly basis on vendor management
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and specifications. Analyze and report on key performance indicators related to procurement activities
- Stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new product developments.
- Assist in developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures.

Your Background:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or related environment.
- Strong experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must have experience communicating via phone and e-mail with vendors regarding ordering/in-voice discrepancies
- Must have strong communication skills to be able to work with different departments (including, but not limited to: project management, off-shore accounting teams, field service technicians, quality, safety, management)
