ROLE
The Policy Analyst will be expected to contribute to our multiple efforts in conducting risk assessment and supporting the development and implementation of climate change adaptation strategies by researching, analysing policy frameworks and developing recommendations to inform decision-making at multiple levels, working in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment. In this role, he/she will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of EU projects, covering various aspects of environmental sustainability and climate resilience.
RESPONSABILITIES
The Policy Analyst is responsible of:
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis within the EU context.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external partners to design and implement EU-funded projects aimed at advancing climate resilience and promoting sustainable development.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policy recommendations, leveraging research findings and stakeholder input to inform evidence-based decision-making.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ph.D. or a minimum of 5 years of research experience post-undergraduate degree, enabling access to doctoral studies, in the field of economics, statistics, political science, public policies, and environmental studies.
- Strong knowledge of environmental economics, climate change adaptation, and climate governance.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in teams, as well as independently.
- Fluency in English.
DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.
- The Policy Analyst will be based in Venice CMCC office.
- Contract and gross annual salary will be based on qualifications and working experience.
- Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract.
- Flexible working time as per internal policies.

What We Do
The Foundation Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change (CMCC) is a research centre on climate science and policy.
The CMCC:
- Integrates all studies on climate change and adaptation/mitigation policies
- Promotes collaboration and synergy with international organisations, policy makers, and industry
- Provides technical-scientific support to the institutions involved in the negotiation and international cooperation activities.
CMCC produces thorough studies regarding climate variability, causes, and consequences, through the development of high-resolution simulations based on global models of Earth systems and regional models, with a particular focus on the Mediterranean area.
CMCC's research assures the maintenance of highly reliable products and instruments, which are made available to the scientific community and to further studies on climate science and climate change impacts.
CMCC maintains, checks, and develops numeric model simulations, which are used to study the effects of climate change on the following areas: economy, agriculture, coastal areas, marine and land environment, hydrogeological cycle, carbon cycle and human health
