The role
This six-month FTC offers an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting the ANS migrations team. In this position, you will collaborate with our project management, support, and infrastructure teams to provide physical-to-virtual migration services to our existing customers.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing the entire physical-to-virtual migration process and ensuring that our customers’ service expectations are met throughout. You will lead the development and execution of migration plans to transition our customers to our virtual cloud platform, acting as the primary technical and planning contact to ensure a smooth and successful migration experience.
What will I be doing?
- Work with the support teams to understand and map out the customers solution
- Build out simple migration plans in conjunction with the project managers and the customer
- Contribute to the rightsizing of migrated customer solutions
- Work with the support teams on developing complex migrations plans
- Perform prechecks, benchmarking and migration readiness testing
- Perform set up of new customer environments in our VMware cloud platform
- Perform manual data transfers between solutions
- Perform automated P2V migration using Veeam
- Conduct post migration QA testing and benchmarking, customer handover and signoff
- Innovating and aiding in the development of a new migration service
- Developing your expertise in practical cloud transformation, VMware-based private cloud solutions and Windows Server technology
What will I bring to the role?
- Experience installing, configuring, and supporting most of the following specifics:
- Windows Systems Administration
- Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019/2022
- Active Directory Domain Services
- Familiarity with Powershell, PowerCLI and/or fundamental scripting methodology
- Web/DB Technologies:
- IIS
- MSSQL
- FTP/FTPS/SFTP
- Mail management
- Web hosting security best practices
- Control Panels (Plesk)
- Hypervisors:
- Working Hyper-V knowledge
- VMWare ESXi and vSphere o Backups Technologies
- Commvault
- Bacula
- HA Technologies
- Load Balancing Widows Clustering
- SQL Clustering, Always On, Log Shipping
- Understanding of Veeam Backups and restore processes a benefit
- Experience completing physical to virtual migrations
