Tasks and Responsibilities
• Communicate with various operational groups on all aspects of O&M expense results and projections.
• Prepare and maintain reports that include both summaries of financial results as well as useful supporting detail.
• Translate business needs, activities, and contracts into pro-forma financial projections.
• Meet with operational groups on an ongoing basis to gather financial updates, change forecasts, and explain actuals. On an annual basis, work with operational groups to prepare all components of the calendar year budget.
• Collaborate with Accounting teams to clarify transactions, explain variances, and research issues.
• Coach non-Finance functions on items such as invoice coding, time entry and labor calculations, vendor accruals, etc.
• Develop relationships with key “budget owners” to ensure consistent communication and enhance partnering.
• Meet tight deadlines and work flexibly on ad hoc projects with little notice.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field preferred
• 5+ Years of experience in finance, accounting, or with budgeting/forecasting required
• Masters degree may be considered in place of 1 year of experience.
• Ability to translate financial data into information that operational groups can utilize to make decisions or manage results.
• Excellent presentation skills including use of visuals and messaging of summaries and key points.
• Knowledge of financial statements including ability to trace transactions from journal entries to line items. Knowledge of GAAP preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communicating with multiple levels of the organization and stakeholders with various levels of financial literacy.
• Expertise with Microsoft Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with Oracle Planning & Budgeting helpful.
We offer a competitive salary range of $81,000 to $111,650 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
