JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President, IT Operations to lead and optimize our IT operations, ensuring stability, scalability, and efficiency. This role will be responsible for overseeing IT Service Management (ITSM) and operational processes while driving strategic initiatives and serving as a key advisor to the CTO. The VP will also act as a Chief of Staff for the CTO, aligning IT priorities with business goals and managing complex projects that enhance operational performance.
SCOPE/RESPONSIBILITIES
IT Operations & ITSM
- Oversee IT operations, including infrastructure, cloud services, end-user computing, and IT support services.
- Implement and enhance ITSM frameworks (ITIL) to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Develop and enforce SLAs and KPIs to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across IT services, including incident, problem, change, and asset management.
Strategic Leadership & Chief of Staff Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the CIO, ensuring IT initiatives align with business objectives.
- Facilitate communication, decision-making, and execution of key IT priorities across departments.
- Manage executive reporting, ensuring transparency on IT performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Oversee budget planning, resource allocation, and vendor management to optimize IT investments.
Project & Program Management
- Lead cross-functional IT projects that enhance operational capabilities and business outcomes.
- Establish governance frameworks and best practices for IT project management.
- Ensure timely and on-budget execution of IT initiatives, coordinating with stakeholders across the organization.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT projects and operational processes.
- Regular travel to different Mr. Cooper site locations may be required
EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- 12+ years of IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in IT operations, service management, or a similar role.
- Strong experience implementing and managing ITSM frameworks (ITIL certification preferred).
- Proven track record in project and program management within IT (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is a plus).
- Experience in a Chief of Staff or similar advisory role, providing strategic guidance to executive leadership.
- Expertise in IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
- Network, ITIL, or cloud certifications a plus
- Strong financial acumen, including IT budgeting and cost optimization.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree with major course work in a related discipline preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position is primarily a sedentary position performed in an office setting performing tasks at a desk or workstation and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment. The role also involves movement such as sitting, standing, walking and light lifting.
- The specific functions are dependent upon the position, but key responsibilities may involve utilizing computer systems and software applications to complete a variety of tasks, including typing, data entry, preparing reports, managing documents and/or files and communicating with customers or colleagues. The ability to effectively manage time and competing priorities is also critical.
- The position requires the ability to communicate effectively and to participate in virtual or in person meetings. The position requires the ability to commute by car, public transportation or other means of transportation because travel to the office is required at least occasionally and dependent upon the position, every scheduled workday.
