The Role
As the VP of Global HR & Rewards, you will play a critical role in fostering a dynamic, inclusive, and high-performing workplace at Tala. You will serve as both a strategic and operational leader, overseeing global HR functions and guiding leaders to align people strategies with business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of global workforce management, compensation, talent development, and HR best practices in diverse markets.
What You'll Do
- Be the primary partner with Finance, creating the right processes, documentation, and spreadsheet support to work with finance across our global data, managing the budgets, helping leaders understand their BVA, and thinking through our global policies with finance (travel, HC, development, etc.)
- Update and maintain coherent and consistent global policies by partnering with the SVP of People to align Strategy with policy on global mobility, travel, HC internal transfer, etc.
- Manage our global programs such as merit, promotions, and career pathing updates, and be a partner across the organization and People team to support this work. Also, supporting leadership in a business partner capacity.
- Manage Compensation Refresh annually and roll out to leaders working with the PBPs in each market to ensure alignment.
- Help shepherd our global expansion policies and procedures, working tightly with finance and legal to ensure alignment and develop a playbook for operationally scaling into other countries.
What You'll Need
- Strategic HR Leadership & Business Partnership
- Lead the global HR team, partnering with market leaders to develop and execute a comprehensive people strategy aligned with Tala’s business goals.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the SVP of People and senior leadership, influencing key decisions related to workforce planning, organizational design, compensation philosophy, and global role alignment.
- Drive global expansion policies in collaboration with finance and legal, ensuring compliance and scalability in new markets.
- Develop and implement HR policies that balance global consistency with local compliance and cultural nuances.
- Oversee employee relations, managing complex issues with professionalism and fairness.
- Compensation, Benefits & Workforce Planning
- Lead compensation strategy, including annual refreshes, pay equity analysis, and competitive benchmarking for each market.
- Partner with finance to align HR budgets, headcount planning, and financial processes, ensuring leaders understand and manage their Budget vs. Actuals (BVA).
- Oversee global programs, including merit cycles, promotions, career pathing, and performance management discussions, ensuring fairness and transparency.
- Develop long-term talent strategies, including talent hub locations in emerging markets.
- Talent Acquisition & Development
- Support the Director of Global Talent Acquisition in refining recruiting strategies, optimizing sourcing channels, and ensuring the hiring of top-tier talent.
- Improve the employee lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding—creating a seamless, engaging, and equitable experience across all markets.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
- Design and implement employee engagement and retention programs, leveraging market-based rewards and recognition strategies.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of HR leadership experience in a global, high-growth organization (preferably in fintech or financial services).
- Expertise in HR best practices, policies, and employment laws across multiple countries.
- Proven success in developing and executing HR strategies that drive business performance.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams across different markets.
- Deep experience in compensation philosophy, talent management, and workforce planning.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
