Job Description
Vintage 2025
Each year, Cape Mentelle builds a team of exceptionally skilled Cellar Hands and Vineyard Hands from various backgrounds to bring their dedication and knowledge to support us with the year’s harvest.
We provide comprehensive training, a social & and collaborative work structure and broad work tasks to allow you to immerse yourself and build an intimate understanding of winery/vineyard process.
You will have direct access to our winemakers and viticulturists and ability to build your professional networks with staff from around the world.
What you'll do:
During the harvest period, you may be required to work shifts up to 12 hours in length and up to 6 days per week.
You will be responsible for:
- Operating tractors and other vineyard machinery
- Assisting in net application
- Canopy management
- Vine training
- General vineyard maintenance
- Actively participate in all harvesting activities, by hand and machine
Qualifications
Now let’s talk about you:
- Prior viticultural or related horticultural experience is preferable
- Completed or on-going qualifications in Viticulture is desirable
- Ability to meet Australian work VISA requirements
- Solid English language skill
- Good level of fitness / ability to work on feet, outside all day
- Resilience and a good sense of humour
We hope to make offers for all positions throughout December, and have all employment & and travel arrangements confirmed by the holiday period. This role would commence mid January 2025.
