In this role, you’ll design for the "top half" of the e-commerce experience across mobile web, desktop web, and our iOS and Android apps — everything from search and navigation through product discovery, selection, and configuration. You’ll work at the intersection of user needs and business goals to create intuitive, inclusive, and visually compelling designs that guide customers seamlessly from browsing to buying. What You'll Do
- Design and enhance user experiences and interfaces for e-commerce journeys focused on product discovery: search, browse, navigation, product listing pages (PLPs), and product detail pages (PDPs).
- Translate complex customer and business needs into elegant design solutions across multiple digital platforms (responsive web, iOS, and Android).
- Develop high-fidelity UI designs, design flows, and interactive prototypes in Figma, leveraging design system components and contributing to system evolution when necessary.
- Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Brand stakeholders to validate problems and solutions, advocate for user needs, and drive alignment on design direction.
- Apply inclusive design principles and accessibility best practices to ensure experiences are usable and inspiring to all customers.
- Help shape the information architecture and product taxonomy to improve the clarity and discoverability of products across all shopping channels.
- Participate in and help facilitate design critiques, user research, and cross-functional workshops.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, creativity, and collaboration within the product design team
Who You Are
- Strong interaction and visual design skills, with a portfolio that demonstrates thoughtful design decisions for complex user flows and responsive interfaces.
- Expertise in designing end-to-end digital experiences and building polished prototypes using industry-standard tools such as Figma (preferred).
- Familiarity with Lean UX and Test & Learn methodologies; comfort interpreting user research, A/B testing, and analytics to inform and iterate on designs.
- A solid understanding of product taxonomy, content hierarchy, and information architecture principles.
- Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams and balancing input from multiple stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
- Passion for inclusive design and accessibility, ensuring experiences are usable by people of all abilities.

What We Do
In 1969, Don and Doris Fisher opened the first Gap store on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco. They wanted to make it easier to find a great pair of jeans, and they did. Their denim and records store was a hit, and it grew to become one of the world’s most iconic brands.
Today we’re represented in more than 1400 stores in over 40 countries, and online. We have headquarters in New York, London, Shanghai, Tokyo, and, of course, San Francisco.
Our unique aesthetic is optimistic cool, elevated American style. Our clothes are crafted with care, with focused attention to thoughtful design. We believe in staying true to our heritage while creating what’s next.
Don and Doris Fisher always wanted to “do more than sell clothes.” They wanted to support the people who ran their company, to be active in their communities, and to have a positive impact on the world. Their vision helped transform retail, and we’re still following their lead.
We stand for freedom and possibility for all; we champion diverse ideas that transcend generations, geographies and genders.
