Job Description
The User Enablement Content Development manager oversees content development and content roadmap management across multiple products to drive product adoption and build experts. In this role, you and your team are responsible for developing software documentation and software product training for our customers and partners. You will lead a global team of content developers. You will excel independently and as a leader, while working in a hyper-growth, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and still deliver high-quality work. You must be detail-oriented, organized, and concise. Excellent leadership capabilities are critical.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for Content development for multiple products, in various stages of development, with varying release cycles.
- Lead a Content Development team; motivate, challenge, coach, and manage:
- Define standards for excellence in content development standards
- Motivate and engage team members, challenging each to produce their best work
- Coach employees and create opportunities to further their growth
- Assign projects and timelines; hold the team accountable for achieving targets.
- Evaluate documentation and enablement content
- Measure and manage team progress against production quality and organizational objectives.
- Design/develop/deliver engaging learning experiences throughout the software user’s life-cycle.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure we meet all business needs.
- Manage projects related to departmental strategic initiatives and reporting.
Qualifications
Required Qualifiications
- Bachelor’s degree in Training & Development, Education, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience developing, delivering, and documenting customer and partner learning experiences.
- 1-2 years manager or supervisor role
- Excellent written, oral, and communication skills
- Ability to motivate and engage a broad audience of various levels and cultures
- Strong attention to detail
- Expertise in content development, technical writing methodologies, and technology
- Shows initiative, be a self-starter, able to multi-task
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in an agile and quick-paced environment
- Ability to meet project deadlines and deliver results
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability
Desired Qualifications
- Previous work in the software industry
- Experience in digital content development tools like Camtasia a plus
- Strong experience with documentation content development and presentation tools like MadCap Flare and/or Zendesk a plus
- Experience with Jira for content development roadmap management
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with Reporting Software and Data Integration a plus
