Talen Energy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Treasury Intern to join our Treasury team. The Treasury Intern will assist in managing the company’s cash flow, preparing financial reports, and supporting treasury operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in corporate finance, financial analysis, and cash management.
What will you own?
Cash Management & Forecasting:

Assist with daily cash positioning and forecasting.
-
Monitor and analyze cash inflows and outflows.
-
Support the reconciliation of bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
-
Assist with the Company’s Letter of Credit/Surety program.

Assist with redesign and implementation of new forecasting/reporting processes.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
-
Prepare and analyze treasury reports, including collateral/LC tracker.

Assist capital markets and FP&A teams with daily/monthly processes.

Assist in monthly and quarterly financial close processes.
-
Support the creation of presentations and reports for senior management.

Assist in Letter of Credit fee audits.
Banking & Payment Operations:

Help maintain banking relationships and assist with account management.

Support payment processing and documentation.

Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Data Management & Documentation:

Assist in maintaining accurate records of treasury transactions.

Update and organize treasury documentation and policies.
Required Skills
-
Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking abilities
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (customizable based on role)

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in virtual and in-person environments
-
Familiarity with financial software (i.e. Bloomberg, FactSet, Cap IQ, etc.) is a plus.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic Qualifications
-
Currently enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university
-
Must be a rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s degree, if applicable) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field or a related discipline

Enrolled full-time with a minimum of 12 semester hours
-
Maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
-
Eligible to work in the U.S. in accordance with BCIS guidelines

Able to provide an official student transcript and any other required documentation

Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with others
-
Demonstrated leadership potential through academic, extracurricular, or community involvement
-
Internship eligibility ends upon graduation from the academic program
