BHS Corrugated is seeking a Training Specialist to join our growing team in our Charlotte, NC office!

Summary:

This position will be responsible for developing and coordinating technical training for all BHS employees, including the expansion of resources, curation of content, and evaluating the success of implemented training initiatives. Roles also include administration processes related to the company’s Learning Management System (LMS). This role is a hybrid position in Charlotte, NC requiring 60% in-office work and less than 20% travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess the training needs of the field service and maintenance groups through job analysis and consultation with managers.
  • Collaborates with service management to develop individual and group training programs and resources that address specific business needs.
  • Designs, curates, plans, and implements training programs within the company and the Learning Management System.
  • Consult on work-product & training activities from content creators and process trainers.
  • Participate and guide in the administration and maintenance of the training management system and associated records of course attendance and completion.
  • Ongoing interaction with management and employees to evaluate success of training methods and employee performance, while continuously improving the content development processes.
  • Explore the potential external training vendors and options for technical content relevant to the field service and maintenance roles.
  • Assist managers in creation of standards and support resources for on-the-job training to facilitate a common experience for all new hires and coaches the indirect process trainers.
  • Travel to other BHS sites to gain knowledge of varying job functions, processes, and equipment, and determine best training practices for associated content development.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in training, organizational development, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of computer-based learning content development tools, as well as learning management system administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are a must. Ability to successfully interact and understand technical concepts and processes.
  • Project management skills and focus that assure milestones/goals are met, adhering to established timelines.
  • Proficiency in guiding employees through technical products and processes.
  • 10 – 20% travel to BHS sites domestically as well as some international travel to our parent in Germany.
  • Ability to work 60% of the time in-office.
  • Advanced skills in Learning Management Systems (LMS), Microsoft products and training course development tools, like Rise and Storyline.
  • Previous experience in the corrugated industry in a maintenance function is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a passport.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Perform bending and twisting motions as needed.
  • Safely lift and maneuver objects weighing at least 30 pounds.
  • Navigate and walk over equipment and uneven surfaces.
  • Ascend and descend ladders and stairs.
  • Work effectively in various temperature ranges, including hot and cold environments, while on customer locations.

Salary & Benefits:

The salary range offered for this position is $60k - $65k per year.
