The Opportunity

Are you passionate about empowering others through learning and development? Hitachi Energy is seeking a dynamic Training and Development Specialist to join our team at the Mt. Pleasant and Greensburg plants. In this role, you will be instrumental in establishing our inaugural training center of excellence, creating innovative learning blueprints, content, and certifications. You will assess skill gaps, track employee development, and deliver engaging training materials, all while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence. How You'll Make an Impact

  • Deliver hands-on training and monitor progress to ensure skill acquisition.
  • Lead and participate in training projects aligned with factory goals.
  • Develop and maintain training documentation, including Job Instruction Breakdowns (JIBs) and learning paths.
  • Collect and analyze training performance data to recommend improvements.
  • Encourage employee engagement and accountability for learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with plant leaders to identify and address skill gaps.
  • Support continuous improvement in training processes and materials.
  • Apply adult learning principles to create engaging training sessions.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in training and development, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled in adult learning techniques and instructional design.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency with training technologies and tools (e.g., Adonis, Cornerstone, SAP).
