The Wellington Transport Alliance (WTA) is a partnership between Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Fulton Hogan and WSP. The WTA is responsible for managing the maintenance and operations programme for the state highways and roading networks of the Greater Wellington Region, and for delivering high service standards to the people and roading network of the region.
We are looking for an experienced Operator who is wanting to grow their skills on Tractor Mower Operating. You will grow your ability and experience in vegetation maintenance and control when you join our team at Wellington Transport Alliance. You will be carrying out a wide variety of tasks with our Open Spaces Management (OSM) Team and learning new skills along the way.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Tractor Reach mowing (including ride on mower)
- Upkeep of vegetation around the Wellington State highway network
- Spraying
- Weed eating/scrub bar work
- Hand weeding
You will be working a minimum of 40 hours a week however flexibility is a must as there is the occasional time where you may have to work night shift, or be called in to assist in afterhours call outs.

What we need from you
- Class 2 Licence, with WTR endorsements preferred;
- Experience operator various machines
- Great communication skills with a good attitude towards maintenance and care of machinery;
- General vegetation control & Horticultural experience
- Growsafe Qualification (Desired)
- Excellent attitude toward Health and Safety in the workspace
