Job Description:
HITACHI RAIL STS USA Inc. is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Testing Supervisor in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Accountabilities
1- Coordinate testing and root cause analysis and resolution of equipment electrical failures.
2- Test circuits to ensure wiring systems are in accord with schematics.
3- Verify wiring continuity.
4- Test High Potential wiring and insulation to ensure capacity and insulation conform to standards.
5- Test and troubleshoot Low Voltage systems to verify operating status of hardware devices, signal relays, and push buttons.
6- Test, troubleshoot, and ensure correct operation of Low Voltage Power Supply and Auxiliary Power Supply, uploading software to devices to ensure accurate operation.
7- Test door and HVAC systems.
8- Test brake and suspension system to ensure optimal operation and safety standards compliance and upload brake control Unit software.
9- Upload software to Traction Converter Unit and test and ensure proper operation of traction converter, speed sensors, and high voltage transducer.
10- Test Automatic Train Control system and ensure traffic, radio, stop, and safety signally operate properly.
11- Test communication systems.
12- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
13- Coordinate Commissioning tests and conduct high speed tests.
14- Supervise approximately 7 test technicians and 3 assemblers.
Required Travel
1- Travel within USA up to 3 months per year. Trips of 1 week to 1 month.
2- Travel to unanticipated company manufacturing locations within the U.S. for up to 1 month may be required.
Required Skills/ Knowledge
1- One (1) year of experience in job offered or 1 year of experience as Engineer, Project Engineer, or similar, as well as
2- One (1) year of experience as Engineer, Project Engineer, or similar must include testing and ensuring the reliability of industrial electrical equipment or machinery and root cause analysis and resolution of equipment electrical failures
Education:
1- Bachelor's degree, Electrical Engineering
In accordance with the DOT’s FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi’s substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions.
The salary range for this position is $92,000 - $114,840 per year. Final pay is determined by the candidate’s experience, skillset and ability level, internal equity and location. Benefits: Health, life, accident & disability insurance; flex acct, retirement savings plan, paid vacation.
