Job Description

Responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and optimization of Boyd Gaming's voice communication systems. This position takes ownership of the product of voice systems, including PBX, VoIP, SIP networks, voice mail equipment, and Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems, while integrating them into an enterprise-level, cloud, or hybrid architecture. The Telephony Product Manager bridges technical expertise with product-centric responsibilities to deliver innovative, reliable voice communication solutions.

  • Take ownership of the voice communication systems lifecycle, including planning, design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Evaluate, solution, and implement a scalable enterprise telecommunication strategy for Telephony Products, integrating localized systems into a unified cloud or hybrid environment.
  • Works with the support team as an escalation point for systems including PBX, Voice Mail, VoIP, and SIP systems.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure the voice systems align with operational needs and customer experience goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for voice-related hardware and services, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve voice system issues, performing root cause analysis and providing documentation for resolution.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures for voice system operations, ensuring compliance with Boyd Gaming's IT standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for system installations, maintenance, upgrades, and events.
  • Prepare recommendations for management regarding best practices and emerging technologies in voice communications.
  • Coordinate system installations and upgrades with business units and service providers.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of related experience in telecommunications with a focus on enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing medium to complex telecommunication systems.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of PBX, VoIP, SIP networks, voice mail systems, and LMR technologies.
  • Experience managing the lifecycle of voice systems, from planning and implementation to optimization and decommissioning.
  • Familiarity with cloud and hybrid telecommunication environments, particularly for voice systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and configuring telephony products, including complex VoIP and SIP network integrations.
  • ITIL V3 Awareness preferred.
  • CCNA Voice certification preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Calm demeanor under pressure with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong service orientation and a proactive approach to solving customer and organizational challenges.
