The Technical Sales Engineer plays a pivotal role in promoting temperature sensing solutions, providing expert technical advice, and ensuring customer satisfaction while driving business growth in sectors like aerospace heat treatment, aerospace composites, energy, automotive, pharmaceutical, steel, aluminium, brick, cement & glass manufacturing.
The role requires close collaboration with various departments within CCPI Europe to ensure the feasibility of customer product requirements.
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:
Customer Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with customers in industries such as aerospace heat treatment, aerospace composites, energy, automotive, pharmaceutical, steel, aluminium, brick, cement & glass manufacturing.
- Identify customer needs, provide tailored solutions and produce accurate quotations.
Sales & Business Development
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new opportunities in the temperature sensing market.
- Develop proposals, including detailed cost estimations and technical documentation, for temperature sensor solutions.
- Stay updated on market trends and emerging customer needs within the temperature sensing domain.
Technical Expertise
- Provide in-depth technical guidance on products such as thermocouples, RTDs (Resistance Temperature Detectors), and temperature measurement instrumentation.
- Assist customers with integrating temperature sensing technologies into their systems or processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, both during pre-sales and post-sales activities.
Training and Support
- Train customers on temperature calibration, and operation of temperature sensing devices.
- Provide ongoing technical support and recommend system optimizations to improve performance and efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive records of customer interactions, technical solutions offered, and sales progress.
- Prepare reports on industry trends, competitor products, and sales achievements.
- Taking on any additional tasks as required for the Inside Technical Sales role.

This is a crucial role within the organization, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the Sales Team. The Inside Technical Sales Engineer must be well-versed in current and emerging product ranges, industry standards, and application-specific working practices.

Building strong working relationships with the Sales Office Manager, Sales Team, Department Heads, and colleagues is essential in helping CCPI become the European leader and innovator in temperature measurement solutions for complex applications.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education
- A Higher Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in additional languages would be of benefit.
Experience
- Experience in technical sales or engineering roles, preferably in the temperature sensing or instrumentation industry.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of temperature sensing technologies such as thermocouples & RTDs.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and calibration techniques (e.g., ISO 9001:2015, ISO 17025:2017, AMS 2750, and BS EN 9100:2018 standards).
Sales Acumen
- Strong negotiation, customer engagement, and account management skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities in niche markets.
Communication
- Proficiency in explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Skilled in delivering engaging presentations and product demonstrations.
Software Skills
- Familiarity with CRM tools and industrial automation platforms.
- Understanding of data acquisition systems and software used for temperature monitoring and control.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of AutoCad would be of benefit.

Work Environment:
- Office-based with frequent travel to industrial sites, manufacturing plants, and customer locations.
- Collaboration with engineering, R&D, and sales teams to deliver customized solutions.
Hours of work:
Mon to Thursday – 8:15am to 4:45pm
Friday – 8:15am to 2:15pm
