About this role

We’re looking for a hands-on and passionate Tech Lead to join our growing team in Karachi. This role is ideal for a technical leader with a deep understanding of software engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and a focus on driving technical excellence. You will work closely with engineers on technical challenges, provide guidance on best practices, and ensure project delivery aligns with technical standards.

In this job, you’ll…

• Lead the technical direction of your team, focusing on the full-stack development of services, system design, and architecture.
• Provide hands-on technical support, particularly in code reviews, debugging, and technical troubleshooting.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, particularly in CI/CD, DevOps, and testing frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Ensure that technical solutions are delivered with high quality, scalability, and maintainability in mind.
• Guide engineers in making well-informed decisions regarding technology choices, frameworks, and system design.
• Mentor engineers, sharing your technical expertise and ensuring they continue to develop their skills.
• Be responsible for operational aspects like incident management and improving system observability.

We’re looking for…

• Proven technical leadership experience, with the ability to provide hands-on guidance and mentorship.
• Strong backend development skills in areas such as JavaScript, NodeJS, TypeScript, React.
• Solid experience in system design, architecture, and building scalable solutions.
• Hands-on problem-solving skills, focusing on technical challenges and code quality.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and modern DevOps practices.
• Passion for technology, with the ability to stay current with trends and adopt new methodologies.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly and work closely with engineers.
• Experience with observability and monitoring in technical systems using tools such as Datadog.
• Experience with AWS or Azure
• Someone who can help guide the team on a journey towards using serverless in AWS.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Flutter
• Interest in database design, DevOps practices, and testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with observability in technical systems.
• Experience in designing for serverless databases (Table Storage, DynamoDB), and thinking in a cloud-native, cloud-first mindset
