Team Manager

We have an exciting leadership opportunity for a Team Manager to join our Ballarat Chocolate Factory, home to iconic brands such as Snickers, Maltesers, and M&Ms!

About the Role

As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a production shift team within the factory, overseeing up to 30 shift associates.

This role is integral to ensuring smooth operations and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) across Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Delivery, Cost, People, and Environment.  You will be supported in this role by a Shift Co-ordinator who will provide the first escalation point for Factory Floor Associates and will be work a 24x5 shift pattern.

What would be your key responsibilities? 

• Lead and develop your team to foster a high performing, engaged team culture
• Drive operational excellence and facilitate, coordinate, and prioritise production activities to optimise efficiency and meet production targets.
• Maintain a safety-first mindset, ensuring all safety policies and procedures are adhered to while leading and role-modelling a culture of workplace safety.
• Oversee adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ensure that all Quality & Food Safety standards are met to a high standard.
• Drive continuous improvement by leading and supporting problem-solving initiatives to optimise processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational performance.
• Manage shift schedules, time and attendance, and leave planning to meet production demands effectively.
• Support the development of Shift Coordinators, building their skills and capabilities for succession planning.

What we are looking for?

• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong people management skills with the ability to lead, engage, and develop a diverse team.
• A solid understanding of manufacturing operations, quality assurance, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the ability to interpret data, charts, and graphs.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, change agility and achieving results.
