Team Lead, DevOps Engineering
Point & Pay- Remote, FL
*You will be expected in Tampa several times per year*
What you'll be doing:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a small team. This may include coaching and developing team members, identifying promotion/growth opportunities, executing progressive disciplinary action, and participating in performance reviews
- Delegate tasks to team members based on management requests and project needs
- Take the lead on investigating and resolving technical issues and provide escalated technical support while partnering with peers to build a solid basis for technical expertise and troubleshooting problems
- Administer servers, network infrastructure, and databases for development and deployment
- Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of services and system software and related infrastructure
- Ensure systems, operating systems, software systems and related procedures adhere to organizational values
- Ensure a reliable, secured and optimized systems environment
- Install new and/or rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
- Implement integrations requested by developers
- Deploy updates and fixes
- Build tools to reduce the occurrences of errors and improve the customer experience
- Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
- Perform root cause analysis for production errors
- Develop scripts to automate visualization
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
- Additional projects as assigned by management
What we need from you:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering or related field
- 5+ years of IT Project Management experience with proven database and infrastructure project management experience
- Good hands-on knowledge of Source Code Management (Version Control System) tools like Git
- Experience with systems monitoring software and systems
- Proficient in developing Continuous Integration/ Delivery pipelines
- Experience with automation/ integration tools like Jenkins
- Knowledge of major cloud service providers, like AWS
- Hands-on knowledge of software containerization platforms like Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as python, bash, perl
- Experienced in Linux architectures, Ubuntu/CentOS
- Ability to effectively interact with, lead and mentor individuals with varying levels of experience and further develop them to higher levels of independent effectiveness
- Must be self-motivated and able to meet objectives with little supervision, as well as the ability to manage multiple and changing priorities with attention to detail
- Ability to document Root Cause Analysis and ongoing system documentation
- Well-developed technical and analytical skills to support and troubleshoot complex issues in an enterprise environment
- Understanding of common backup and restore procedures
- Proven track record of managing a large AWS environment / Cloud environment
Salary Range: $140,000- $150,000
