We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, contributing to the efficiency of our financial operations, and providing valuable financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess 7 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience, a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and a proven ability to manage complex accounting tasks.

 

Note: This is a full-time, on-site position working at our new office location: 11 E 44th St, 6th Fl, New York, NY 10017.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
    • Perform detailed variance analysis and provide insightful explanations for financial fluctuations.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of financial reporting procedures.
  • General Ledger and Month-End Close:
    • Manage and oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
    • Perform complex account reconciliations and maintain accurate general ledger records.
    • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and fixed asset depreciation.
  • Audit and Compliance:
    • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting regulations and internal control policies.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal control procedures.
  • Financial Analysis:
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
    • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.
    • Mentor junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Retail, Tech or Transportation Industries
  • Experience with QB desktop.

Comprehensive Pay and Benefits:

Annual Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
