What does it mean to be a Talent Acquisition Specialist at GLS?

The Talent Acquisition Specialist position is responsible for overseeing the full life cycle of recruitment, including the sourcing of active and passive candidates through a variety of channels. This position is also responsible for providing support for administrative HR functions related to the recruitment process. 

How you will drive value within the organization as a Talent Acquisition Specialist?

  • Create a thorough recruitment and interviewing plan for each open position based on collaboration with the hiring managers, including regular follow-up to discuss results and adjustments as needed 
  • Source, through various forms of advertising and/or vendor networks, to provide both active and passive quality candidates for all open positions within a timely manner 
  • Develop an online organizational presence in order to attract a diverse pool of candidates including development of social media and professional networking sites, suggesting improvements for the organization’s website career page and researching alternative avenues for internet-based recruiting 
  • Establish strong working relationships with all organizational leaders in order to provide top quality service during recruitment process 
  • Coordinate all pre-employment background review processes, ensuring selected candidates meet organizational standards 
  • Participate in organizing and implementing college recruiting initiatives 
  • Research and participate in career fairs and networking events to increase awareness of company brand 
  • Own administrative HR functions including onboarding, new hire orientation and other administrative duties as necessary 
  • Maintain electronic records and files that support work performed, results, and outcomes 
  • Participate in special projects as needed 
  • Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management 

What you should have to be successful as a Talent Acquisition Specialist?

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Proven ability to source passive candidates using platforms like LinkedIn, CareerBuilder, and Indeed
  • Intrinsically motivated individual who takes initiative, identifies opportunities, and drives improvements to processes
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others, manage conflict, handle sensitive information, and build collaborative relationships across the organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard business applications, with the ability to quickly learn new software
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Commitment to embodying the organization's core values and key competencies

Employment Requirements:

  • Physical Requirements: While performing the essential duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to:
  • Remain in a stationary position 100% of the workday
  • Constantly operate a computer and other standard office equipment 
  • Talk and hear to exchange accurate information
  • Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
  • The position does require occasional local travel
