Job Description:
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Tag Machine Operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Batesburg, SC.
Accountabilities:
- Comprehend test specifications and interpret drawings, complex schematics and wiring diagrams
- Direct and set-up machinery for assembly of tags for all Hitachi projects including routine maintenance, setup and programming
- Format tag files using EWS software for all ongoing projects
- Utilize Brady software to create Brady tags for all projects
- Use in house software to create Hitachi plastic tags for all projects
- Check all layout tags to the EWS text files
- Create manual tag spread sheets for non EWS projects
- Order all tag material needed for on-hand stock
- Track all tag material used on projects for traceability
- Quarterly reports to finance for tag material used on projects
- Log all tags produced per project in spread sheet (who/what/where/when)
- Adhere to project schedules
- Attend weekly MFG project meeting
- Must work independently with little supervision
Required skills/experience:
- 2-3 years of Assembler experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Products including Work and Excel
- Experience reading following blueprints, and schematics
- Strong organization skills
- Intermediate understanding of wiring and tagging process
- Interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Brady Tag Machine operation
- Familiar with Brady software to provide inputs and support programmer
Preferred Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in Project Wiring
- Experience using EWS (Engineering Workstation) software
Education:
High school diploma
