This role is categorized as hybrid . This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren - GM Global Technical Center three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.
Working cross-functionally with Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Containerization, Logistics and GM assembly / manufacturing plants to facilitate critical supply issues and business transfers. This group deals with short term capacity issues caused by broken tools or equipment, fires, floods, and any other related supplier shortage issues.

  • Support / Lead conference calls with business transfers and critical supply issues
  • Function as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, logistics and suppliers to resolve issues and to provide technical support
  • Determine the cause of supplier delivery problems and coordinate/implement effective and timely resolutions
  • Help assess and assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions for critical issues
  • Improve delivery performance of suppliers by identifying process improvements and lead time reduction opportunities
  • May participate as member or resource to product development teams
  • Regularly exchange information with others inside and outside the work group including GM and supplier facilities
  • Work with Supplier Risk Management team with Financially Troubled Suppliers
  • Keep management updated frequently , consistent with the issues urgency

Additional Description
Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing, program/product management, logistics or product development
  • Expect 75%+ travel
  • Provide Executive Reports as Required


Education:
Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, related field, or equivalent work experience


Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related advanced degree a plus
