Job Description:
An SRE Lead is a mid-level position where an individual is responsible for leading a team or project. They may manage and train junior staff, oversee project timelines, and ensure the quality of work produced by their team. They may also be responsible for communicating with stakeholders, managing budgets, and identifying areas for improvement.
The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Lead will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our company's IT systems, working closely to the software engineering team and the operations team to design, build, and maintain the systems and tools required to support our infrastructure and applications.
The ideal professional will have experience in designing, building, and maintaining highly available and scalable IT systems from an infrastructure and applications perspectives.
What are we looking for?
- Great experience in infrastructure engineering or SRE role
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and services
- Familiarity with operational system administration and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of ITSM processes
- Understanding of applications lifecycle management
- Experience with cloud platforms
- Experience on major transformation projects, merges, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience with distributed systems and architecture
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and methodologies is a plus
- Experience with security and compliance practices in infrastructure management is plus
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Ensure the reliability and availability of our systems through monitoring, alerting, and fault-tolerant design.
- Collaborate with software engineers to ensure that our infrastructure can meet the needs of our applications.
- Partner with Segment Technology Office to plan the SRE Team capacity according to the demand
- Collaborate with software engineers to ensure that the software engineers develop applications assuring scalability, stability, and performance.
- Collaborate with EDS/BDS teams to drive automation agenda including infrastructure and applications automation and toil elimination.
- Continuously monitor and analyze infrastructure performance, identify, and resolve issues.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and tools in the infrastructure space and apply them to improve our systems.
- Implement service level objectives and indicators (SLOs and SLIs)
- Implementing continuous integration and delivery pipelines
- Implementing incident response plans
