Overview:
Two Barrels is hiring a Systems Data Center Engineer at our facility in Johnston, IA. You will be a traditional company employee. This is a full time 40 hour/week position with company benefits. This position is coded as "Office-Only" which means all work must be performed in our Johnston, IA facility.

Responsibilities:
- Be a good human
- Deploy and configure server hardware, including virtualization technologies, and storage systems within the data center environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems components
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and address issues to ensure optimal server and storage performance
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies for servers and storage systems to ensure data integrity and availability
- Provide technical support for system-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions promptly
- Create and update system diagrams and documentation as needed
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures
- Conduct capacity planning to ensure that the data center systems can support current and future organizational needs
- Implement and maintain security measures for servers and storage systems to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats
- Design, plan, and implement the systems architecture within the data center to meet organizational requirements
- Work on the development and implementation of scalable and high-performance systems solutions
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of proven experience in a Systems Engineer or similar type of role with a focus on data center environments
- In-depth knowledge of server hardware, virtualization technologies, and storage solutions in an enterprise datacenter
- Three years experience in proxmox, vmware or other virtualization technology
- Inventory and Asset tracking experience
- Strong understanding of data center architecture and design principles
- Understanding of Networking
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in vendor management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in leading and completing large-scale projects within specified timelines and budgets
- Extensive experience with automation tools like Ansible or Puppet, with a track record of optimizing system management processes
- Experience in designing and implementing advanced security measures, demonstrated through successful security audits and incident response
- Hands-on experience in integrating on-premises systems with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- Experience in conducting in-depth capacity planning assessments, ensuring systems can accommodate future growth and demand
