Overview:
Two Barrels is hiring a Network Data Center Engineer at our facility in Johnston, IA. You will be a traditional company employee. This is a full time 40 hour/week position with company benefits. This position is coded as "Office-Only" which means all work must be performed in our Johnston, IA facility.

Responsibilities:
- Be a good human
- Provide technical support for network-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions promptly
- Collaborate with other IT teams, including system administrators, developers, and security professionals, to ensure cohesive and integrated IT infrastructure
- Conduct capacity planning to ensure that the data center network can support current and future organizational needs
- Plan and execute network upgrades, including hardware and software updates, in coordination with the organization's change management processes
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify and address issues to ensure optimal performance
- Implement performance optimization strategies and recommend upgrades as necessary
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect data center networks from unauthorized access and cyber threats
- Design, plan, and implement data center network architecture to meet the organization's requirements
- Work on the development and implementation of scalable and high-performance network solutions
- Deploy and configure networking hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers within the data center environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network components
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of proven experience in a Network Engineer or similar type of role with a focus on data center environments
- BGP experience
- Experience with firewalls and security appliances
- Strong understanding of data center architecture and design principles
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and security best practices
- Experience in vendor management
- Experience with scripting and automation of network devices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with data center switching with brocade, fs, juniper and cisco
- Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualization technologies
- Experience in a quickly growing environment
