About the Role

We are looking for a Software Project Engineer in the Connectivity team and you will have the opportunity to develop innovative software for the automotive industry. Telematics products exposes the internal car ecosystem to the Internet: the car becomes an element of the Internet of Things (IoT), offering a new level of access to car’s functionalities and a platform to build additional features in areas such as safety, security, comfort. You will work with concepts like Telematics, 5G and V2X (vehicle-to-everything).

You will be a window person to JOEMs and representing SW domain team for successful program execution.

What You Will Do

  • Be a window person to customers and lead software development for the particular domain and integration on assigned new product development projects, through the global design team.
  • Derive and extend technical requirements from customer requirements, internal requirements, change requests and system architectural design.
  • Lead the creation of DFMEA/DRBFM with global development team and present/review them with customer(s).
  • Develops component design document based on specifications and given SW architecture.
  • Estimate implementation effort and map requirements/features to releases/milestones.
  • Track progress of all development activities (complete V-Model) regularly.
  • Adjust/synchronize planning with overall project schedule/milestones and communicate deviations.
  • Identify, analyze, manage and report risks.
  • Review/approve work products e.g. design documents, decisions.
  • Coordinates software development activities with software project leader.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other relevant (IT connected) specializations.
  • At least 3+ years of experience as a software developer with C/C++ knowledge
  • At least 3+ years of experience leading global team.
  • Experience in developing embedded applications.
  • Knowledge in inter-process communication, threading, socket communication.
  • Fluent in Japanese and Business level English.
  • Working knowledge of embedded operating systems.
  • Debug knowledge using gdb.

What is Nice to Have

  • Understanding of TCP/IP protocol internals.
  • Automotive experience.
  • Unified Modeling Language Knowledge.
  • Knowledge in agile software development methods (SCRUM, SAFe Agile).
  • Knowledge of process models (e.g. Automotive SPICE® specially SWE.2).
  • Knowledge of secure coding standards.
  • Knowledge of Automotive Functional Safety (ISO 26262).
