Position Summary:
Reporting to the OVH / LV Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Planner is responsible for the daily central planning activities supporting the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes for LV and OVH products. This role will focus on customer satisfaction, operational efficiencies, and inventory control. The position will work closely with the Business, Sales, Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing teams to meet effective outcomes though analysis and development of production plans that align market demand with manufacturing capacity models.
Job Objectives:
- Support sales and operations plans for the assigned area of responsibility optimizing capacity while balancing constraints in monthly production plans to meet business objectives
- Act as bridging role between sales and manufacturing to manage priorities and changes in the production plan in order to optimize service level
- Maintain the production plan/schedule in a daily/weekly basis for selected product lines following sales orders priorities and backlog requirements
- Work closely with commercial team to align backlog and priorities to meet service standards
- Determine root cause of service issues and evaluate options to mitigate disruptions
- Establishes priorities for production and requests to expedite
- Analyze sales and production data to classify ABC items and identify and reduce slow moving inventory
- Compute safety stock and reorder points for stock programs as required and report on trends
- Calculate and update lead times
- Review unusual demand flags for appropriate action
- Follow customer service metrics and work closely with sales to review and improve inconsistencies
- Maintain stock requirements and replenishment levels within network of third-party warehouses and subcontracting partners
- Update and maintain master data within assigned material groups
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of supply chain, warehousing, or distribution experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Operations, Engineering, or Business
- Experience with ERP systems (experience with SAP Cable Solutions wire and cable industry module a definite plus)
- Materials planning and scheduling experience, preferably in cable manufacturing environment
- APICS and Six Sigma Certifications are a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines daily with limited supervision
- Willingness to work varying hours in critical situations
