Quality Team
Quality team is responsible for assuring the quality of operational activities (bids, projects and products) and supporting the maturity growth and performance improvement of the organization with the aim of improving customer satisfaction and driving competitiveness. The department enhances the accountability of operational teams for the quality of their output, strengthens the learning, improvement and problem solving capabilities and develops the maturity of the organization by leveraging operational best practices. Quality has the responsibility to increase transparency when it comes to operational performance and reports independently to senior management.
For the Quality team of the Naval-NL business unit, we are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Manager (SQM)
About the job
As SQM, you will be involved with multiple suppliers/subcontractors within a procurement segment, (for example mechanical or electronics), to ensure that the supplier solution is in line with the customer expectations, contractual requirements and quality standards. You will work closely together with the Supplier Quality Leader (SQL) and our procurement discipline
including the Supplier Performance Manager (SPM). You will work with the supply chain procurement teams, assesses supplier capability to meet
our requirements. Furthermore, you will work continuously with our suppliers to provide support, ensure their continued performance and give confidence to our internal supply chain, project teams and customers services.
As part of your job you will contribute to Supplier Site Approvals and qualification, lead on site audits to assess the maturity of suppliers, analyse, Supplier non-conformance and monitor and mitigate supplier operational risks. With Supplier Quality Management, we aim to strengthen upfront risk identification before supplier selection and formalise process and product qualification. Therefore as SQM you contributed to the selection process for new suppliers, you ensure correct flow-down of the
applicable requirements to the Supplier.
You are part of Thales NL Quality Assurance (QA) organization and therefore has an independent escalation / reporting line towards the Thales NL QA Management. In addition to the above, you may be involved in (transverse) problem solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), audits, assessments and other improvement initiatives. Training in Q&I tools and practices will explicitly be part of your onboarding program and personal development. This job provides you with the opportunity to boost your professional development. In three to five years, you will gain thorough knowledge of our Naval domain and products, our organization and our processes.
You will strengthen your risk management, problem solving and improvement skills, and quickly expand your network. This job can serve as a stepping stone towards a bid/project/product/line management function, or a (more senior) position within our procurement discipline.
About you
- A relevant (technical) degree, such as computer science, engineering, business management.
- Professional working experience within supplier (quality) management, preferably within quality management, project management, procurement or supply chain management.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, complex and multi-national environment wherein you manage/influence various stakeholders, create (quality) awareness and challenge the status quo.
- Ambition to strengthen Thales’ operational performance in the domain of procurement, thereby balancing pragmatism and sustainability and relying on your excellent communication skills
