Job Summary
This is a 10 week summer internship with Memorial Hermann Health System. To be considered, applicants must be entering their junior or senior year of a Bachelor's program or in a Master's program with their major in Healthcare Administration, Business or a related degree . This internship will begin June 2nd and wrap up late July/early August. Students will be paid $20/hour if in a Bachelor’s program and $21.50 if in a Master's program. Candidates must be available for the full internship which is 40 hours each week. During this internship, students will also participate in weekly learning sessions presented by MHHS leadership to get a better understanding of the healthcare industry.

• Conducting competitor research and providing strategy recommendations.
• Auditing current marketing tactics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Creating diverse marketing materials, including collateral and web content.
Interns will collaborate with marketing professionals across the organization, receive mentorship and career advice from leaders in various disciplines, and work on team projects alongside a small cohort of aspiring marketing professionals. Additionally, interns will have the unique opportunity to tour Memorial Hermann facilities and engage with leaders from across the System.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: : Current student in an accredited college/institute of higher learning working on or recently completed their undergraduate degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Journalism, or related area.
Licenses/Certifications: (None).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Customer service or non-professional leadership experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willing to travel locally for business and development purposes.
Principal Accountabilities
- Performs a variety of entry-level duties related to marketing such as reports, surveys, events, and collateral, while learning the fundamentals of the business.
- Researches problems, discrepancies, and responds to routine inquiries related to the business, technological, and operational activities.
- Prepares reports, presentations, operational documents, and correspondence containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content related to business, technological, and operational activities subject to review and editing by higher-level staff members.
- May perform a wide variety of paraprofessional, technical, and clerical tasks during peak workload periods or in the absence of assigned staff.

Advocates for safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
