For Takeda Ireland Ltd, we are looking for a
Operational Excellence Champion (Lean/OpEx Project Manager)
for a full-time permanent position at our location in Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland.
As an Operational Excellence Champion, you will play a pivotal role in driving measurable improvements across our Value Stream and Support Functions. Your expertise in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies will be instrumental in identifying and implementing step-change projects that enhance efficiency, quality, and performance. By collaborating with various departments and stakeholders, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring our organization remains at the forefront of operational excellence.
Your tasks in detail:

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify and seize opportunities to enhance processes within our Value Stream and Support functions, making a tangible impact on our operational efficiency.
  • Lead Transformative Projects: Spearhead step-change projects across the site using Lean and Six Sigma principles, delivering significant improvements that elevate our performance.
  • Ensure Excellence in Execution: Guarantee the timely and complete execution of Lean/OpEx projects, ensuring that every initiative meets our high standards of quality and effectiveness.
  • Implement Best Practices: Deploy industry-leading Lean and OpEx methods and techniques in all improvement initiatives, setting the benchmark for operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with Visionaries: Work closely with Business Excellence and Agile/OpEx Leads and other key stakeholders to prioritize and drive forward the most impactful initiatives.
  • Foster a Collaborative Environment: Engage with all departments within the Value Stream and Support functions, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared success.
  • Foster a Collaborative Environment: Connect with the global Agile community, participating in training, knowledge-sharing meetings, and Communities of Practice to stay at the forefront of industry trends.
  • Champion OpEx Principles: Act as an ambassador for OpEx principles, ensuring they are understood and embraced across the site.
  • Champion OpEx Principles: Adapt and simplify OpEx methods to make them accessible and actionable for all team members.
  • Champion OpEx Principles: Provide coaching and support to colleagues, empowering them to achieve their best and drive continuous improvement.


Your profile:

  • Third-level qualification in a technical discipline is required or equivalent
  • Experience in the Pharmaceuticals or life sciences industry is preferred.
  • Green Belt or higher qualifications in Lean Six Sigma are highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with data management tools (e.g., Minitab, PowerBi) is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver well-defined projects, managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Flexible and eager to learn, with the ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse processes and interpret data to drive improvements.
  • Strong skills in coaching, teaching, presentation (both oral and written), and facilitation.
  • Courage to challenge existing processes and not accept the status quo.
  • Excellent listening and presenting skills.
