About the Role
In Global Blue the Shared Service organization provides centralized finance and accounting services to the Group.

The Subject Matter Expert of VAT and Tax processes is a senior accounting expert, who manages, coordinates, and controls the VAT reporting and booking and the Corporate Tax calculation and accruals of GB entities. The SME maintains a VAT and Tax knowledge base and trains GL accountants.
Responsibilities

Perform and supervise accounting activities (VAT reporting, reclassifications, Corporate tax calculations and accruals)

Builds and maintains VAT and tax reporting calendar

Tracks and coordinates tax reviews

Documents the current & deferred tax calculation process and the VAT process per GB entity

Monitors local legal changes, trains GL and Reporting team

Perform SOX controls and propose improvements in manual control processes

Coordinates VAT and Tax related statutory audit questions in the SSC under the supervision of Group Tax Director

Works closely with Group Tax Manager in all tax related questions

Good understanding of VAT and Tax principles and accounting transactions

Qualifications and education requirements

Bachelor degree in Finance and Accounting

Minimum 7 years of practical experience in VAT and Tax

Understanding of SOX controls, experience in an international SOX and IFRS accounting environment

Very good MS-Office skills, especially Excel, experience in working with accounting software’s

Advanced understanding of accounting ERP modules

Excellent English language skills (oral & written), other language is a plus
