The opportunity

This senior role invites you to shape the future of our business as a Strategic Partnership Manager.

As a strategic business partner to intermediaries and policyholders, you’ll be integral to achieving our growth targets, building profitable partnerships, and ensuring long-term, sustainable portfolio health.

You'll engage with cross-functional teams to create and deliver a market-driven approach, and, with a focus on operational and commercial excellence, you’ll contribute to strategies that align with the company’s goals. You’ll also present the best of QBE to our partners, looking for innovative approaches to take advantage of market conditions and technological advances.

Your new role

Be at the forefront of our business, managing and developing critical partnerships that align with our strategic objectives.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify, negotiate, and execute agreements that maximize mutual value. Key aspects of your role will include:

  • Develop and implement broker strategies that support our ambitious goals for customer service, retention, and portfolio performance.
  • Work closely with local Product and Claims teams, as well as global counterparts, to align initiatives with company objectives and play a key role in crafting and executing our New Zealand business strategy.
  • Support the underwriting of complex risks, ensuring accurate survey records, and supporting pricing reviews to maximize profitability.
  • With an excellent understanding of market dynamics and customer needs, you will drive portfolio growth and analyse internal and external risks.
  • Leverage market and competitor insights to inform strategies and drive value-added solutions.

A strong focus on commercial outcomes, your success in this role will hinge on your ability to influence and align key stakeholders, anticipate market needs, and ensure that our partnerships are both sustainable and impactful.

About you

You are an experienced strategic leader within the insurance industry, demonstrating a proven ability to create and implement successful growth strategies. You will possess:

  • A high level of commercial acumen and are adept at managing complex stakeholder relationships, fostering strong partnerships, and meeting agreed targets.
  • With your extensive experience in underwriting, sales, or claims, you are equipped to make sound, data-driven decisions that enhance portfolio health and drive profitable growth.
  • Your interpersonal skills enable you to communicate effectively, navigate complex challenges, and lead initiatives that align with our company’s long-term vision.
