Senior Software Engineer - VALORANT, Foundations Engine

Riot Games Sydney is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Sydney-based VALORANT, Foundations Engine. Internal Job Title: Software Engineer II.

In VALORANT Foundations, we focus on the game engine, content pipelines, developer workflows, and other critical core capabilities. As a Senior Software Engineer on the VALORANT Foundations Engine team, you will work in the core systems of Unreal Engine to help deliver amazing experiences to players. This role will report to the Engineering Manager on VALORANT Foundations, Engine Sydney.

Responsibilities:

• Help maintain, support and update Engine tech and tools for content teams 
• Lead projects with your teammates and in collaboration with other teams and disciplines
• Seek out and champion development process improvements
• Uphold a high standard of engineering excellence
• Provide mentorship to more junior members of the team

Required Qualifications: 

• 4+ years experience in professional software development
• 3+ years professional experience with C++
• Have collaborated on cross-team development efforts (3+ months in scope), including requirements gathering, planning, and release

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience
• Experience developing and shipping games in Unreal
• Experience developing Unreal Engine games for console
• Experience modifying Unreal Engine
• Experience in render systems
