Staff Fullstack Engineer

The Rounds also offers scheduled pickup services for compost, recycling and packages. Its “Psychic Home Manager” is an AI-powered platform that enables predictive restocking and personalized product recommendations. We’re looking for a NYC based senior fullstack engineer to join our team and build the future of sustainable commerce! You’ll work closely with our world-class engineering, product, and other teams to solve a wide range of interesting problems. This role is fulltime in our Dumbo office. We believe our best work happens when we’re in the same space together.

What You'll Do:

• Build user-facing applications that our Members love, like our mobile app and signup flows
• Scale our internal tools to facilitate our unique circular commerce model, like reusable container lifecycle tracking
• Collaborate closely with your fellow engineers on writing excellent code across the stack
• Exercise excellent technical judgement and leadership to design and deliver scalable, efficient systems quickly
• Mentor more junior engineers and help them scale up to staff-level impact
• Work daily with your partners in design and product to ship the best possible product for our users

What You've Done Before:

• 6+ years of experience writing high impact production code.
• You’ve architected business critical systems across the stack
• You’ve built libraries and systems that are easy for less experienced engineers to maintain and utilize
• Very experienced with typescript. You hate any and love strict mode.
• Deep experience building in React. You can explain when to useMemo vs useCallback.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with GraphQL
• Experience building logistics or operations technology for e-commerce
• Experience with infrastructure tools like AWS and Terraform

The Interview Process

• A phone call with our people team to get to know you, answer any questions, and coordinate the rest of the process
• A short coding exercise (in typescript) paired with one of our engineers
• A takehome & onsite where you’ll pair with several staff engineers on technical exercises, and get 1:1 time with our Senior engineering manager and Chief Product Officer.
• A 30 minute call with our CEO/co founder

The base salary for this full-time position, which spans across multiple internal levels depending on qualifications, ranges between $210,000 - $235,000 plus benefits & equity.
