Staff Engineering System Analyst

Job Description:
The staff engineering system analyst is responsible for identifying, scoping, and leading large, critical projects to improve effectiveness of engineering systems and processes. This role applies business acumen, broad Allison product and process knowledge, and IT technical skills to bring about transformative change to business processes and systems in their assigned domains.
This position specializes in product configuration management using SAP Variant Configurator.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze engineering systems and processes to identify areas for improvement
- Lead subject matter experts and product owners to develop and document roadmaps for key systems that enable engineering activities
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for engineering systems and processes
- Lead engineering teams, IT teams, and other stakeholders as necessary to implement new/improved systems and processes
- Validate system changes to ensure they meet the needs of the organization
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for engineering systems and processes
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in relevant systems and processes
- Envision, design, implement, deploy, and maintain systems using domain-specific tools
- Represent Product Engineering in one or more enterprise-wide governance councils (e.g. SAP COE, Data Analysis COE, Artificial Intelligence COE, Change Approval Boards, Security COE)

Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, information technology or demonstrated equivalent experience in prior roles
Required Experience:
- Configuring and maintaining a manufacturing enterprise application, such as an ERP, PLM, MES, or LMS (SAP PLM and VC preferred)
- Ability to organize tasks, documentation, and project deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Proficient with MS Office 365 – PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Teams, SharePoint, and Visio
- Experience working effectively in cross-discipline teams
- Experience extracting & documenting stakeholder requirements via live interviews and conversational e-mails
And at least 2 of the following technical experiences:
- Designing, building, deploying, and maintaining multiple applications using MS Power Platform
- Designing, building, deploying, and maintaining multiple PowerBI Dashboards
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining multiple web-based applications including a database
- Designing multiple mechanical components for production in modern 3D CAD (Siemens NX preferred)
Scope:
- Technical knowledge required (SAP)
- Individual contributor with no direct reports
- Significant vendor management responsibility
- Broad exposure and partnerships with various levels across the organization
Travel Requirement: up to 25%.
