Job Description Summary
The Staff Engineer, SW Development will be responsible for the design and development of software solutions as part of an Agile software development team. The Staff Engineer will serve as the technical lead to develop high level technical designs, produce, and execute code, assess, and troubleshoot software programs and applications.
- Write automation and integration code according to specifications.
- Understand the architecture of a client-server-based enterprise application and integrate independently deployed software components (internal or third-party)
- Collaborate with product architects to understand application modularization and provide technical feasibility guidance on CICD design and help other team members estimate their efforts.
- Perform the PoCs for implementing best industry practices(UnitTest, Regression Test, Code Analysis, Vulnerability Analysis) in development and CICD pipelines.
- Enhance the packaging of the application for a better upgrade experience, this includes fixing the current packaging tool and creating new packaging tools with standard tools available in the market.
- Mentor, coach, and develop the talents of more junior engineers.
- Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Experience Required:
- 7+ years of experience in software development, web application development and/or developing robust. Net-based services/applications for large enterprises.
- 2+ years of experience with software architecture for cloud-friendly and cloud-native applications on AWS Cloud
- 2+ years of Experience with a DGMS, Packaging Tool, REST API, and CICD Automation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must have:
- .Net, SQL Server, Java Script, Nuget, and MSBuild
- CICD Tools (Jenkins / Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Packaging Tool (Wix, Installshield, iExpress, AdminStudio any)
- Scripting Language (Powershell or Python)
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Good to have:
- Understanding of AWS-based services for product development
- Terraform / Cloudformation
- Microservices & Containerization
