We are looking for a staff backend engineer to join our growing container logistics team and contribute to a product we aim to establish as the market standard in container shipping logistics. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and ambitious project, working with a skilled and collaborative team spread across three different countries.

Your mission is to:

• Lead the design, execution and deployment of engineering solutions, solving our container logistics business cases.
• Actively participate in the creation of the roadmap.
• Work closely with other engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Provide technical mentoring to members of the wider team and business.
• Maintain and enforce the highest level of Engineering standards.

It will be a match if you are or have:

• Substantial professional experience as a Backend and/or Data engineer.
• Experience scaling high-traffic digital platforms and pride yourself on having a user first mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and professional english level.
• Team player, looking to ensure that colleagues and the team are successful.
• Strong expertise in Python (technology we currently use) and/or Scala (technology we may use in the near future).
• Experience with data processing frameworks (Apache Kafka, Spark, or equivalent).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of software engineering principles.




Nice to have

• Leadership and mentorship abilities.
• Knowledge of best practices in security.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and CI/CD tools.
• Experience working with AWS.
• Knowledge of Avro, Parquet.
• Open source project development experience.
