We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team at TSE Brakes Inc. headquarters, located in Cullman, Alabama. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day accounting operations, with a focus on accounts payable, invoice processing, expense tracking, and assisting with month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensure proper coding of invoices and adherence to company policies
- Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to verify accuracy
- Prepare and process payments (ACH, wire transfers, checks)
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain organized records of accounts payable and vendor files
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Support accruals, account analysis, and variance reporting
- Assist with audits by providing documentation and support as needed
- Contribute to continuous improvement of AP processes and internal controls
- Perform other general accounting duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 0–2 years of accounting experience (internships or part-time roles are a plus)
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Teams)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Team-oriented with a proactive and positive attitude
