The Team:
This leadership position entails overseeing a team of six Business Portfolio Managers who support more than 60 Commercial Managers, five senior directors, and nine team lead. The team collaborates closely with various supporting functions to assist Commercial Managers in contract creation, process workflow management, renewal handling, and ensuring the successful implementation of CSM agreements within our internal Salesforce systems. Furthermore, this role involves working with colleagues globally to share best practices.
The Team Lead will play a pivotal role in managing and guiding a team of six Business Portfolio Managers, while also providing support to over 60 Commercial Managers across the organization. This position will involve collaborating with key stakeholders and departments to enhance efficiencies and streamline processes. The Team Lead will prioritize improving the customer experience by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of contracts, identifying and eliminating workflow bottlenecks, and facilitating the implementation of renewals, add-on sales, and CSM conversions. Additionally, the Team Lead will oversee pipeline management, document creation, and drive global strategic projects aimed at enhancing our operational effectiveness and improving how we do things.

- Demonstrate leadership and influencing skills in a team setting, including extended teams where members are not always direct reports.
- Be a trusted partner and strategic advisor to the commercial team to help enhance our operational effectiveness and ensure we meet our sales objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of six BPMs, providing daily assistance to enhance their support to the commercial team. Build competency across the team by fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders across commercial and supporting teams to ensure swift implementation of contracts, trials, and services changes. These teams include, among many, the Legal, Finance, Commercial Contract Support (CCS), Order Management (OM) and Collections (CFR) Departments.
- Master our processes and have full understanding of our internal policies to guide our commercial team in delivering optimal solutions, implementing best practices through collaboration, and providing thoughtful feedback for enhancements. Identify and resolve bottlenecks and areas for improvement by working strategically with stakeholders.
- Strategize with team member to innovate and improve the overall contact creation and implementation process. Focus on ways to improve customer experience through accurate and timely contract activation.
- Monitor key deals monthly to ensure pipeline accuracy aligns with targets. Follow up on delayed renewals and continuations, review month-to-date (MTD) and commission file checks, and help support and maintain overall pipeline hygiene. Review and systematically assess progress and address any discrepancies on checklist and projects. Additionally, attend CM and BPM 1:1 calls to facilitate open communication, identify areas for enhancement, and drive continuous improvement in our processes. Follow up on open contract escalations, remove roadblocks so team can focus on their workload.
- Partner with Commercial Director’s to align on priorities, pipeline planning, and timing consistency.
- Implement best practices through feedback and collaboration with colleagues, creating seamless BPM support.
- Communicate goals clearly and monitor success regularly through Thrive check-ins.
- Create training and onboarding plans for new hires.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $125,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

- Proven leadership and influencing abilities in a team environment, including the capacity to persuade and convince others, as well as to thoughtfully align with differing viewpoints, even among extended teams where members may not be direct reports.
- Expert understanding of internal processes and global policies, specifically renewal, CSM/CSM+, Salesforce, billing, contract processing, delivery, and fulfillment.
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to work independently, take initiative to resolve tasks with a can-do attitude and have an analytical mindset.
- Highly proficient in systems Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks while working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. With strong time management skill, process and results oriented.
- Experience in developing moderate to complex business reports.
- Demonstrates exceptional organizational and communication capabilities, with a proven track record in strategic project management and effective time management.
- Possesses strong analytical skills, thriving in dynamic team environments.
- Exhibits robust leadership qualities and expertise in process development, driving operational excellence and innovation.
