Job Description:

We’re looking for a Senior Risk Reporting Analyst & Senior Risk & Control Analyst (Global WAM Risk) to join our team at MBPS. In this role, you will be responsible for producing management and risk reports for different Risk Officers across Manulife’s Global Wealth and Asset Management (GWAM) business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce management and risk reports for different GWAM Risk Officers 

  • Monitor and investigate Investment Risk data quality check exceptions

  • Gather data and perform analysis of report results for Investment Risk team

  • Collaborate with the BU on Investment Risk projects/initiatives

  • Weekly/Monthly touchpoints with the BU for progress, updates or challenges on tasks assigned

  • Perform any other tasks as necessary and requested by the BU

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Wealth and Asset Management along with operational risk management is essential.

  • Perform Risk and Control Assessment with the business to identify and assess significant risks and controls in the processes, identify gaps or missing controls, recommend remediation plans and monitor/oversee completion of actions that will enhance the related processes and controls.

  • Experience in Financial Services: At least 2 years of experience in the financial service industry, preferably within a large multinational investment management company, is desired. Experience with finance or operations in data management and reporting is essential.

  • Financial Instruments and Data Governance Knowledge: A sound understanding of various financial instruments such as fixed income, equity, derivatives, and alternative investments, as well as familiarity with data governance concepts, is needed.

  • Analytical and Reporting Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are critical. The ability to produce and present comprehensive reports in a high-impact, easily-understandable format is essential.

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required for clear and structured communication with global team members. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across multiple departments are also necessary.

  • Act as a Risk Champion and Risk Advocate, to ensure that the message of risk migration and the enhancement of the Global Control framework is delivered to all aspects of the Investment function/organization being supported.

  • Amenable to work on a nightshift schedule.

Nice to Haves:

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel, including mastery of formulas and pivot tables, are required. Proficiency in other business tools like Power BI, PowerPoint, and Word is also important. Knowledge of VBA is a plus.
