Job Summary: 

The Sr. Quality Assurance (QA) Manager assists in oversight of Quality and Compliance functions within the organization for dietary supplement, food, cosmetic, and household products manufactured by contract manufacturers. Develops and implements robust quality management systems, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and promoting a culture of quality and compliance across all departments. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance product integrity and ensures operational quality to maintain availability of high-quality product flow to iHerb customers. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the food, dietary supplement, and beauty industry’s regulatory environment, including 21 CFR 111, 117, MoCRA and experience in QA/QC processes, and shares our commitment to produce high-quality and safe wellness products to customers. Job Expectations:

  • Quality Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive QMS that aligns with industry standards and regulatory requirements. 
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure organizational compliance with applicable regulations and standards; lead internal/external audits and inspections.
  • Policy Development: Create and maintain quality and compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to quality compliance; oversee root cause analyses and corrective action plans. 
  • Customer Care & Feedback Management: Maintain structured feedback loop with Customer Service to gather insights on potential quality and compliance issues and address/investigate them proactively. 
  • Training and Education: Design and implement training programs to educate staff on quality standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure quality and compliance performance; prepare regular reports for senior management. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development (PD), co-manufacturers, and operational teams to integrate quality and compliance into all aspects of product development and production. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency; foster a culture of quality awareness and accountability. 
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as one of the primary points of contact for quality and compliance matters; communicate effectively with regulatory agencies, external auditors, and internal stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:         

  • Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
  • Use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection
  • Computer proficiency
  • Quality orientation and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working with high performance teams
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution skills
  • Operations equipment & processes
  • Computer (WMS) and ERP: SAP systems 
  • Product Development Formulations knowledge  
  • Internal/External Audits
  • Product & Process Hazard Analyses and Risk Assessments 


Equipment Knowledge:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred


Experience Requirements:

Generally requires a minimum of seven (7) years related experience with three (3)  to four (4) years of supervisory experience required. Must be experienced in cGMP compliance.


Education Requirements: 

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., QA/QC, Regulatory, Quality R&D/PD, Life Sciences); Master’s Degree preferred.

The anticipated pay scale for this position can be found below, however the pay range applicable to you may vary by geographic location based on where the job is located or where you work.  The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc.  iHerb, LLC is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations.
