Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Manager of Visual Design to lead and inspire our design team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of visual design, from concept development to final execution. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create visually stunning and impactful designs that align with our brand and strategic goals.
What you will do
- Storytelling through Design: Lead the development of compelling visual narratives that resonate with our target audiences.
- Design System: Oversee the creation and maintenance of a robust design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all design projects.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and inspire a team of talented designers, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of design solutions.
- Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies, and incorporate them into our design process.
- Project Management: Manage design budgets and resources effectively, prioritizing projects and delivering on time.
Travel/Physical Demands
- Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
Qualifications
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in visual design, 3 or more years management experience, with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering exceptional results.
- Strong storytelling skills: Ability to translate complex ideas into visually compelling narratives.
- Proficiency in design software: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills: Ability to articulate design decisions and present work effectively.
- Attention to detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent management and leadership skills and ability to attract, retain, motivate, develop and mentor team members for high performance
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to resolve disputes effectively
- Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills
- Outstanding independent decision making, analysis and problem solving skills
- Understand, interpret and act on financial information that contributes to business profitability
- Ability to plan and manage complex and successful projects; understand available resources, develop timeline, budget and assign areas of responsibility
- Lead teams to achieve company goals and solve complex business issues in creative and effective ways
- Outstanding planning and organizational skills and techniques
- Communicate effectively with senior management and key stakeholders
- Strong negotiating skills and ability to effectively manage internal and external relationships
- Ability to influence, build relationships, understand organizational complexities, manage conflict and navigate politics
- Broad and wide-range of professional and managerial skills with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures
- Ability to lead and develop virtual teams
- Outstanding in multiple technical and business skills
Nice to have:
- Master's degree or global equivalent is a plus.
The posted range for this position is is $100,000-$145,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a target bonus not reflected in the posted range.
